What does 'full kitchen installation' mean?

A full kitchen installation is a complete replacement of the kitchen room, including services, surfaces and finishes, not only a swap of units.

A partial job changes doors or worktops on existing carcasses. A full installation removes everything back to the walls and floor, corrects the services behind them, and rebuilds the room so it is finished, compliant and ready to cook in on handover day.

Which stages happen before the kitchen is fitted?

Design, measured survey, strip-out, first-fix plumbing, first-fix electrics and plastering happen before any new cabinet goes in.

The survey fixes every dimension and service position. Strip-out removes the old kitchen and disposes of it. First fix runs new pipes and cables to the positions in the design. Plastering then gives flat walls for cabinets and splashbacks.

Which stages happen after the cabinets go in?

Worktop templating, worktop fitting, splashbacks, second-fix plumbing and electrics, appliance installation, decoration and snagging happen after the cabinets are fixed.

Stone and quartz worktops are templated on the fitted cabinets, so a gap of 7–10 working days is normal. Second fix connects sinks, taps, sockets and lighting. Appliances are installed and tested. Decoration and a snag walk-through close the project.

What is not usually included?

Structural wall removal, extensions, boiler replacement and work outside the kitchen room are separate scopes priced on their own.

These items need a structural engineer, a Building Warrant or a separate trade programme. They are quoted as distinct lines so the kitchen price stays clear. See the kitchen renovation cluster for wall removal and extension work.

Where do you start a complete kitchen project?
